According to ChainCatcher, SlowMist founder Yu Xian shared the experience of Twitter user @0xMaxLin who was scammed in a job search on the X platform, warning the community to be aware of fake video conferencing software that is used to trick potential victims into downloading malicious applications and stealing crypto assets.

maxlin.eth reported a job scam in which the scammer pretended to be from infrastructure development company xLabs and contacted the victim through Telegram to trick him into downloading malware. The scammer used Zoom to conduct a fake interview under the guise of offering a marketing specialist position to lower the victim's vigilance. At the end of the interview, the scammer asked the user to download a conferencing software called Meetly. After installation, the software malfunctioned and the user eventually discovered that the link was a scam website. The user promptly transferred the assets to another wallet, successfully avoiding the potential risk of theft.
