Telegram-based Hamster Kombat is one of the popular examples of the click-to-earn genre.

Our team has uncovered a number of fraudulent schemes targeting Hamster Kombat users. In one scheme, scammers trick victims with the promise of converting in-game coins into rubles through phishing links that require Telegram login credentials.

Svistunova explained what method the fraudsters follow with the following statements:

Once credentials are entered, attackers gain access to personal accounts, allowing them to steal data, blackmail and send fake messages. This scheme targets victims in Russia, but scammers in other countries may also begin luring victims under the same scenario.

Chairman of the Banking Committee of the Russian State Duma, Anatoly Aksakov, recently made a statement demanding that Hamster Kombat be banned, stating that the game "manipulates" the human mind.
