According to Cointelegraph, MicroStrategy Chairman Michael Saylor was allowed to give a three-minute Bitcoin investment proposal presentation to Microsoft’s board of directors.
The proposal was sponsored by an activist investor who will provide a three-minute presentation to the board, Saylor said during X Spaces hosted by VanEck.
Saylor believes that companies like Berkshire Hathaway, Apple, Google and Meta should consider Bitcoin investments because they hold large amounts of cash and could be destroying shareholder value.
Microsoft’s board of directors currently has 12 members, including Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella. Microsoft will discuss the proposal regarding Bitcoin investment in December.
The proposal, pushed by the National Center for Public Policy Research, highlights that MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin investment strategy has helped its stock price outperform Microsoft by 300% this year.
Microsoft's board recommended against the proposal, saying it had evaluated a variety of investable assets, including Bitcoin.
