Vitalik Buterin opposed the idea of supporting political candidates solely on the basis of their “pro-cryptocurrency” positions
He believes that choosing candidates this way creates a gradient of incentives in which politicians realize that simply speaking out in favor of cryptocurrencies is all they need to gain support.
Buterin also noted that such politicians may support legislative measures that could harm the crypto ecosystem more broadly, despite their rhetoric.
