According to Odaily, since its launch on April 20, the Runes protocol occupied more than 50% of transactions on the Bitcoin network for 13 days. However, in the subsequent four weeks, it failed to maintain this level. As the hype around Runes gradually subsided, Bitcoin (BTC) regained its dominance in network bandwidth allocation. Currently, BTC accounts for 90.7% of all transactions on the blockchain. Despite this shift, Runes continues to lead among other Bitcoin protocols. As of July 17, Runes accounted for 7.9% of all transactions, while BRC-20 and Ordinals represented 1.1% and 0.4%, respectively.
