Telegram game Pixelverse announced the launch date for the PIXFI token

Pixelverse, the project behind the popular Telegram clicker game PixelTap, has announced the launch of its own PIXFI token in The Open Network (TON) ecosystem

Following the resounding success of clicker games such as Notcoin and Hamster Kombat, more and more "tappers" are appearing in Telegram. One of the most promising among them is PixelTap, whose token PIXFI will appear on exchanges on July 18.

Listing of PIXFI from PixelTap and whether to wait for airdrop

In a comment for Decrypt, Pixelverse co-founder Corey Leon said that the project team is taking a different path. That's why the developers are going to launch the token much earlier than some other TON-based projects.

"Pixelverse with its PIXFI token is the first launch in the Telegram ecosystem after Notcoin. The event just happens to coincide with the market recovery. Hamster Kombat announced a second airdrop but has yet to list, which was rumored to take place back in late May. Meanwhile, TapSwap has delayed the launch of the asset until the third quarter," he noted.

According to the developers, the PIXFI token will be listed on large centralized exchanges (CEX). However, it is not clear which ones. So far, only one trading platform, Bitget, has told about the listing. The coin will be available for trading on July 18 at 12:00 UTC (15:00 MSC).

There is no information regarding Airdrop yet either. Leon did not share any details. He only mentioned that around 30% of the total PIXFI offering is for "long-term in-game rewards".

What is PixelTap

PixelTap is a tap-to-earn game in the Pixelverse ecosystem that works as a mini-app within Telegram. PixelTap combines elements of strategy, PvP battles and cryptocurrency earning.

Players earn FI points, which can then be converted into PIXFI tokens. Points can be earned by tapping on the screen, inviting friends and participating in PvP battles.

According to Pixelverse developers, more than 50 million players started playing PixelTap in June alone. The project's Telegram channel, meanwhile, has 10 million people subscribed.

Last month, the project attracted more than $5.5 million in investments from venture capital and Web3 companies such as Delphi Digital, Merit, Bitscale Labs and others. Galaxy Digital invested in Pixelverse in July.

Clicker games started gaining momentum after the appearance of Notcoin, which attracted more than 35 million users worldwide. In May, the project launched the NOT token, whose capitalization exceeded $1.6 billion in just two months. Then came the "tapalka" Hamster Kombat. The developers have not yet launched their own coin, but promise to do so in July. The exact date is still unknown.
