Odaily Planet Daily News According to the AXIOS website, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Schumer privately signaled to Democratic donors that he was willing to accept Democratic presidential candidates other than Biden. Schumer has always insisted in public that he supports Biden, but his attitude in private is completely different. According to three people familiar with the matter, Schumer has been listening to donors' ideas and suggestions on the best future direction for the Democratic Party over the past 12 days. Schumer did not indicate who, if anyone, might be more likely to become a candidate than Biden, who he has worked with in the Senate for 20 years. Before Biden's poor debate performance, Schumer told allies that the debate date in late June had two obvious advantages: If Biden performs poorly, he will have time to recover. Or, if Biden's candidacy is irreparable, Democrats can choose to find another standard-bearer. Less than 10 minutes after the report was issued, Schumer quickly responded that he supported Biden to continue his campaign for president.
