A fraudster disguised as a Coinbase employee scammed (https://x.com/theklineventure/status/1810068252900376999?s=46&t=f54P6fnXxOtQwesmZMek1g) cryptan for $1.7 million

The attacker contacted the victim and warned the user about suspicious transactions in his account, and then sent him an email from a fake Coinbase address, as if confirming that the scammer was an official representative avitelem of the exchange.

After which the attacker redirected the user to a website where they were required to enter a seed phrase. Kriptan was embarrassed by this request, but he still entered some of the words. As a result, the hacker intercepted the mnemonics and was able to find the remaining words.

Cryptan lost $1.7 million in BTC, ETH, GRT, MATIC and DOT.
