Odaily Planet Daily News: NEO founder Da Hongfei posted on X that he has now regained control of the X account and expressed sincere apologies to the community. He explained that he received an email at 11:30 pm Singapore time on July 6th asking for a password reset. When he saw the email 50 minutes later, he realized that the X account had been locked. The hacker changed his X account password, enabled two-factor authentication (2FA), and then began to post posts containing scam links. Da Hongfei pointed out that the hack was caused by the fact that he had previously connected multiple third-party websites/applications (office and calendar management services) to his email. The hacker somehow used these permissions to gain access to read the contents of his emails.
