Sentient announced that it has raised 85M in seed round. Sentient's platform will be built on Polygon, representing the expansion of Ethereum extenders in the field of AI. Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, is one of the core contributors of Sentient. The project aims to solve the problem brought about by the rapid development of AI, that is, the phenomenon that the underlying code is concentrated in the hands of a few superpowers such as Google or Meta. Open source code is publicly shared and allows anyone to use it.

Among them, Founders Fund's lead investment is very eye-catching. Peter is one of the co-founders of PayPal and has served as the company's CEO. Thiel is also one of Facebook's early investors and has served on its board of directors for many years. He founded several investment companies, including Founders Fund and Palantir Technologies.

Artificial General Intelligence refers to intelligent systems that can understand, learn and apply knowledge to perform various tasks. This intelligent system has human-like cognitive abilities and can reason and solve problems in multiple fields. AGI is one of the ultimate goals of artificial intelligence research. Although current AI systems excel in specific tasks, there is still a long way to go before achieving true AGI. The existing AGI is unevenly distributed, with large countries and companies having AGI levels far higher than others. Building open AGI aims to ensure that AGI technology does not only serve a few wealthy countries and companies, but can benefit more individuals and institutions around the world, especially those in resource-limited regions. This can reduce the digital divide and promote balanced development of global technological progress.

Many people think that Web2's AGI has not been studied well, and Web3 is purely for cutting leeks. What do you think?
