According to the Daily Planet, the cross-chain protocol Wormhole recently announced the launch of the Wormhole Foundation, which aims to provide support for the research and development of blockchain interoperability technology. The foundation supports the team to build secure, open source and decentralized products in the Wormhole ecosystem. The primary goal is to ensure that Web3 is seamlessly connected through Wormhole, and the ultimate goal is to pave the way for a decentralized Internet. The Wormhole Foundation is co-led by Robinson Burkey and Dan Reecer. It promotes innovation through the xGrants program, investing resources in open source software development and research, especially cross-chain protocols and applications; and fosters the next generation of cross-chain startups through the $50 million cross-chain ecosystem fund initiated by Borderless Capital to support the upcoming wave of Web3 applications that integrate the Wormhole stack.
