According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on January 5th, Hyperlane core contributor Jon Kol tweeted that he is very opposed to the analogy of messaging transport protocols to the TCP/IP protocol.

He believes that the interesting aspect of blockchain is the handling of value transfer, rather than the transmission of information packets. It should be viewed as an open and distributed Visa, where each chain is a merchant.

Jon Kol also pointed out that Hyperlane is an open framework for the future transmission of information and value, and it will not become the TCP/IP protocol.
