According to Odaily Planet Daily, SlowMist released the (2024 Blockchain Security and Anti-Money Laundering Annual Report). In 2024, a total of 410 security incidents occurred, with a loss of US$2.013 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 19.02%.

The DeFi sector was hit the hardest, with 339 incidents, accounting for 82.68% of the total, and losses of $1.029 billion, up 33.12% year-on-year. Ethereum suffered the highest losses, reaching $465 million.

Contract vulnerabilities led to 99 incidents with a loss of $214 million. The top ten attacks in 2024 included DMM Bitcoin's $305 million.

Rug Pull incidents accounted for 58 cases, with a loss of $106 million. Wallet phishing attacks accounted for $494 million, a year-on-year increase of 67%.

The attacks were divided into three phases throughout the year, with the heaviest losses in the first quarter, reaching $187 million. There were 30 cases involving over a million dollars throughout the year, with a total loss of $171 million. Losses were partially or fully recovered in 24 cases, totaling $166 million.
