Just saw the grace period deadline has gone up by 14 days, when it was supposed to be ending today. Has there been any communication on this #PiCoreTeam ?

The grace period for Pi Network's KYC is extended to further 14 days on February 28, 2025.

Let’s understand why the extension? 

* To give more time for Pioneers to complete KYC
* To address issues some Pioneers had with #PiNetwork KYC timing

What happens if we miss the deadline again?
If we miss the deadline again, we could lose most of your unverified Pi balance.

There are so many scarecrow opinion pieces lately about Unverfied Pi Balance!! Most are saying that everyone will lose the entire sum cumulatively gathered from security circle and referrals that have not verified their KYC (know your customer) but also from lock-up boosts.

The Unverfied Balance in Pi is made out of more than one thing. Pi mined together with referrals/security team, bonuses from being a pioneer and up, and the boosts from lock-ups at the first mainnet migration.

What will be lost from the Unverfied Balance are the Pi for which referrals and security circle members won't pass the KYC before the next mass migration to mainnet. With the exception of the last 6 months before this migration.

So the boosts and bonuses you mined yourself will be safe, and once the Core Team has finished putting the Unverfied Balance feature in order, everyone will gain access to the Pi available there.

UNVERIFIED PI AMOUNTS CLARIFICATION

I’m reposting again as someone reported my post which was later delisted:

I wanted to put this into my own words and it’s as best as one can put it:

“Everything apart from the base rate goes into unverified.
There's nothing we can do to convert unverified Pi. That system has not been deployed yet. Wait for information from #PiCoreTeam
At the end of the grace period, the coins you got from referrals whose personal checklist timer expired, will be burned. Everyone will lose some Pi.”

To confirm this, the last few days I’ve been keeping track of my transferable balance. Every day my transferable balance goes up a little over 0.1 Pi which makes sense since the base rate is 0.0047 Pi/hour * 24 hours = 0.1128 Pi.

This means all the extra Pi you earn from bonuses such as Lockup rate or referrals or security circle is not being updated. When the KYC window closes in the next couple days, the system will likely globally update everyone’s transferable amount based on the number of KYC users that you referred.

Don’t panic, we will have the solution to all our questions answered by#PiNetwork .

#PiNetworkkyc verification is all you need to worry about, don’t fixate on the amount of Pi still in the unverified as it’s “broken” for everyone.
