Trump Names Former College Football Player, Republican House Candidate Bo Hines to Chair Crypto Council
President-elect Donald Trump announced that Bo Hines, a former college football player who unsuccessfully ran for the House of Representatives in 2022, will lead the “Crypto Council” as executive director of the Presidential Council of Advisors on Digital Assets. “In his new role, Bo will work with David [Sachs] to foster innovation and growth in the digital assets space, while ensuring that industry leaders have the resources they need to succeed,” Trump wrote. Trump also previously named Stephen Meeran to chair his Council of Economic Advisers. Meeran has previously said that regulations are stifling innovation in the crypto sector.

At the forefront of crypto investors’ concerns, Trump announced on Sunday that Bo Hines, a former college football player who secured the Republican nomination for North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District before surrendering to his Democratic opponent in the general election, will serve as executive director of the Presidential Council of Advisors on Digital Assets, which Trump refers to as the “Crypto Council.”
