About Neutron (NTRN)
Neutron provides an accessible interface for developers to construct cross-chain applications via the Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC), granting DeFi dApps complete economic security of the Cosmos Hub.
The platform's native token is NTRN, with multifaceted utility across the network: it covers transaction fees, offers governance control over network parameters and treasury, and serves as a critical asset within its DeFi ecosystem for liquidity, collateral, and rewards.
The Neutron protocol operates off interconnected key components. Some of the features that are available include Replicated Security, which enables ATOM to be used on the Cosmos Hub to strengthen the Neutron network via IBC. Additionally, there is the Cosmos SDK Blockchain, which is a flexible framework for creating independent blockchains, along with several customized modules that make it easier to build smart contracts for cross-chain applications.
Other components include the Interchain Queries and Transaction Modules that enable smart contracts to access, register, and execute transactions across the blockchain network. The CRON Module allows governance to set up custom messages to be executed at regular block intervals.
Neutron utilizes the IBC Protocol, a standardized protocol known for its interoperability across over 50 blockchains. CosmWasm and Tendermint are also leveraged, promoting secure Rust smart-contract usage and offering a scalable Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus protocol.
The project successfully raised 10 million USD in a seed round backed by Binance Labs and Coinfund, where roughly 11% of the total NTRN token supply was sold at 0.09 USD per NTRN.
The total NTRN supply is 1,000,000,000 and the current circulating supply is 278,810,191. The live price of NTRN is available and updated in real time on Binance.
