Several crypto projects that experienced significant growth in 2024 are reportedly expected to conduct a Token Generation Event (TGE) in Q1 2025.
Platforms like Monad and Pump.fun raised major investments throughout the year, driven by increasing engagements and key developments. These projects are likely to launch their own tokens in the first quarter.
Upcoming TGEs to Drive Competition in the Crypto Market
Blockchain analyst Colin Wu published this list of potential TGE projects on social media, albeit without much commentary to explain his team’s reasoning. The analyst previously predicted HyperLiquid’s HYPE token launch by the end of 2024. The Q1 2025 list contains both returning projects and new entries.

For example, Wu predicted in July that Monad would conduct a TGE in 2024, and it’s currently listed as a likely candidate. Monad achieved high success in fundraising last summer, and a TGE may help the firm raise more capital in 2025. However, he no longer lists Monad as the most likely project, instead giving that position to Pump.fun.
Pump.fun, a Solana-based meme coin platform, has undergone significant market turmoil lately. As it first grew to pass $100 million in revenue, it attracted criticism from the community.
The platform’s unique features, such as live streaming, were subsequently misused by traders to promote harmful content. Reports also suggested that most users trading Pump.fun tokens were in losses. These allegations also drove regulatory scrutiny, particularly in the UK.
Wu and his team noted a few more successful fundraisers that might carry out a TGE. Story Protocol was one of the crypto industry’s largest VC funding recipients in August but still doesn’t have a token.
Similarly, Polymarket teased a token launch after the company’s huge pre-election trading boom, but nothing has materialized since.
This study includes one more useful data point: the quantity and sources of investment capital before a possible token launch. A few names have invested in several candidates, such as Polychain, which backed several large airdrops in December. This might be a strong sign of a potential TGE and/or airdrop in the near future.
