Binance Labs, Binance's venture capital branch, has injected $3.15M into Open Campus, a Web3-based platform that supports educational content creators through tokenization. This move aims to attract more users to Web3 technologies, enhance education participation, and monetize content through the introduction of Publisher NFTs that offer revenue share capabilities for co-owners.
Open Campus' innovative Publisher NFTs benefit content creators, co-owners, and supporters by generating sharable revenue, stored in smart contracts. Moreover, these NFTs can be traded in the marketplace, adding a new level of engagement and benefit for the platform's adopters.
Open Campus, an invention that fosters a diverse ecosystem, serves as a gateway for educational content creators and learners worldwide to Web3. It has already attracted leading EdTech firms, schools, and brands, opening new horizons for millions.
Binance Labs Co-Founder, Yi He stated, "Open Campus leverages Web3 technologies and tokenomics to incentivize high-quality educational content production. The education industry, with its high potential, is a promising sector for introducing users to Web3."
TinyTap, an Animoca Brands subsidiary, is the first Open Campus adopter. The globally-recognized education-oriented platform recently collaborated with Care Bears to create climate change-oriented content and Publisher NFTs. Open Campus envisions driving Web3 adoption through services like wallets, token payments, and incentives offered by adopters like TinyTap.
Yat Siu, Co-Founder of Animoca Brands, and an Open Campus council member commented: "Open Campus's initiative towards education decentralization and educating support is significant, and we're delighted to have Binance Labs' support. Together, we aim to revolutionize education and blockchain with our protocol, onboarding educators and content creators globally."
Open Campus's initiative "Smart Donations," powered by its $EDU token, facilitates measurable grants and scholarships. Also, it has launched with Animoca Brands, the Global Educators Fund, a $10 million initiative to incentivize eligible educators for content creation. This content will be tokenized as Publisher NFTs on the Open Campus platform, allowing educators true ownership over their intellectual property.
