Binance Women in Technology Academy Training Sessions Kick Off to Empower Financial Literacy in Turkey

Binance is excited to announce our collaboration with the Woman in Technology Association (Wtech) to help advance gender equality in technology and enhance women’s financial literacy. The Binance Woman in Technology Association collaboration seeks to increase financial literacy and strengthen women’s participation in crypto, blockchain, and Web 3.0. Simultaneously, we aim to empower young women in their journey to becoming leaders in the technology sector.
Students enrolled at the academy are required to actively engage in online training sessions, discussing various financial technologies of our modern day, such as cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), blockchain, digital wallets, and cloud computing. An introductory meeting for the Binance Woman in Technology Association highlighted collaboration details, program content, and participant expectations. In particular, the event discussed the intersection of gastronomy and technology, with insights shared by “Chef of the Year” İnanç Çelengil and Beverage Innovations Consultant Gözdem Gürbüzatik. Binance affiliates Gülen Okumuş and Kamile Uray also shared their success stories, demonstrating how women can leverage digital assets, blockchain, and other technologies to overcome traditional roles and expectations.
Harika Eldoğan, Marketing Director of Binance Turkey, commented on the collaboration with the Women in Technology Association: “Binance is not just a cryptocurrency exchange; we are a technology company working to expand the blockchain ecosystem. The Binance Woman in Technology Association is one of our initiatives to help foster ecosystem growth. Due to overwhelming interest, we initially increased our capacity from 25 to 50 participants. We plan to continue this project throughout the year, reaching women across Turkey.”
Zehra Öney, Founder of the Woman in Technology Association, emphasized the importance of empowering women in Web3, blockchain, and crypto. She highlighted the high interest of new-generation women in these fields and the need to increase the number of women in entrepreneurial and managerial roles through education.
The Binance Women in Technology Academy aims to provide education to 5,000 women in Turkey over the next five years, with the potential of spreading to further regions. The goal is not only to enhance their individual careers but also position them as leaders in society. The collaboration between Binance and the Woman in Technology Association seeks to address gender inequality in the technology sector, contributing to the advancement of Turkey’s technological and economic strength.
