Learn about our recent efforts to support Ukrainian Law Enforcement Agencies.

Over the past year, Binance has worked closely with the Ukrainian government to support its people during the ongoing turbulence they’ve been facing. These efforts include not only providing humanitarian aid for displaced Ukrainians as a result of the war (such as our Emergency Relief Fund and our crypto refugee card)  but also ongoing support for the region’s financial ecosystem.

Led by experts and senior members of Binance's Law Enforcement Training and Investigations team, we recently conducted a five-day training program in Kyiv that covered several key topics in policing financial cybercrime involving crypto or digital assets. These topics included law enforcement investigations, asset recovery and management, anti-money laundering (AML) policies, and crime prevention initiatives.

Experts and employees from various government departments — including the Cyber Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and the National Securities and Stock Market Commission — all attended the offline workshops.

Kirill Khomyakov, General Manager of Binance in Ukraine and Central Europe, said: “In this difficult time for Ukraine, the country is forced to respond daily to ongoing challenges. We’re committed to standing hand-in-hand with Ukraine’s regulators and law enforcement agencies to protect their financial ecosystem from criminal activity.”

Our five-day workshop in Ukraine is just a small part of our continued efforts within the region and worldwide. We will continue to support Ukraine where possible, including in any matters related to digital assets, or with general humanitarian aid.

Binance has conducted more than 70 law enforcement workshops through our Global Law Enforcement Training Program since its launch in 2022. Each workshop is led by experienced security experts and former law enforcement agents, many of whom have been involved in taking down some of the world’s most notorious criminal platforms, including Silkroad and Hydra.

We plan to continue collaborating with law enforcement agencies and cyber investigative units worldwide to enhance cybersecurity in the blockchain and digital assets industry.

Jarek Jakubcek said: “User protection is our number one priority at Binance. We work with law enforcement to track and trace suspected accounts and fraudulent activities, contributing to the fight against terrorism financing, ransomware, human trafficking, child abuse, and financial crimes.”

Law enforcement and government agencies can submit case support requests to Binance through our Law Enforcement Portal.
