Binance Blockchain Week 2023 has officially come to an end! Over the past two days, Divan Kuruçeşme has been filled with revolutionary ideas and productive discussions that will be pivotal in propelling our industry forward in 2024 and beyond.

Keynote Speech – Earning Trust in a Trustless World: The Key to Sustained Leadership in Blockchain

“If we are building for people, they aren’t going to operate on trustless. Human beings operate on trust.” – Eowyn Chen, CEO of Trust Wallet

How do you establish trust in an environment that's designed to operate without needing it? In the sometimes paradoxical world of blockchain, Trust Wallet is growing into a symbol of dependability for self-custodial solutions. Eowyn Chen, CEO of Trust Wallet, walks us through the hard work of creating trust in an industry that takes pride in being trustless.

Eowyn believes that it is trust that helps companies to be sustainable and tide through market cycles. As she shared her past experiences in pioneering technological initiatives both in Binance and Trust Wallet, she recounts how it is faith, commitment, and continuous building that illuminated the path to success.

Panel Discussion – Market Cycles & Innovation: Preparing For the Next Bull Run

The crypto industry eagerly awaits the roar of the next bull run, but how has the industry transformed and developed during the wait? Most importantly, how is the industry planning and positioning itself amidst these ever-changing dynamics? Alex Odagiu, Investment Director of Binance Labs, has assembled a panel of founders and investors to take a stab at these questions. 

Starting off the discussion on venture capital and Web3 projects during the bear market, Yat Siu, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands Limited, shared from personal experiences: “It’s these times of struggles where the real builders come out.” Those who continue building despite downturns are those who truly believe in the future of blockchain and crypto.

Vineet Budki, CEO & Managing Partner of Cypher Capital, went on to talk about other aspects of the industry with opportunities for growth. The session progressed into a deep-dive conversation, shedding light on some of the upcoming trends, such as tokenized real-world assets, liquidity, and gaming within the Web3 domain, offering a peek into how businesses and the digital space will be redefined in the years to come.

Fireside Chat – The Metaverse Melody: Uniting Culture, Virtual Reality, and NFTs

The Metaverse proposes an exciting fusion of technology and culture – a boundless digital landscape where collaborations, innovation, and creativity come alive like never before. Sarah Omolewu, CEO & Managing Partner of Maven Global Access, led an engaging fireside chat alongside Metaverse veterans, where they explored this vibrant virtual world together. 

Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox, kicked off the conversation by explaining how user-generated content is a huge part of the Metaverse. By leveraging fandoms and celebrities, a new kind of user experience can be offered, with the recent entry of well-known shows such as Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror into The Sandbox world.

“It’s all about connecting with our audience and finding better ways to do that.” shared Engin Altan Düzyatan, the internationally acclaimed actor and face of "Ertugrul" in Medieval Empires.

Even when it comes to the Metaverse, education plays a crucial role in increasing accessibility to fans who have not yet dabbled in the world of Web3. Assad Dar, CEO & Co-Founder of MoonGaming, further delved into the importance of using social channels, such as Twitter and Telegram, to spread awareness on Web3 gaming and NFTs.

“Turkey has always been a very active market for crypto.” – Changpeng Zhao (CZ), Founder & CEO of Binance

Over the course of these 2 days, we have welcomed over 2000 attendees and hundreds of thousands of users who have tuned in through Binance Live. Needless to say, the participation of our speakers and attendees have been invaluable in making this event a success.

Ending the day off on a high note, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), Founder & CEO of Binance, turned up virtually to send his greetings as well as answer some highly anticipated questions.  

He spoke of the significance of Turkey’s role in the advancement of blockchain technology and Web3 locally and globally, and provided personal insights into the future trajectory of the crypto industry, including his thoughts on the Bitcoin halving event that is taking place in 2024. 

Last but not least, CZ also delivered a final reminder to the industry: “Please exercise risk management as we enter into a bull market and don’t FOMO.”

Inside the Exclusive Super Meetup Istanbul 

Binance Blockchain Week 2023 ended off with an exciting evening at the Binance Super Meetup Istanbul. Those who were fortunate enough to register for the event were granted the opportunity to connect with fellow Binancians, grab exclusive Binance swag, and catch an engaging session from Binance's Chief Marketing Officer, Rachel Conlan. 

Closing Thoughts

Our two days in Istanbul were a fantastic way to showcase Web3’s potential for revolutionary digital transformation. Exploring cutting-edge topics in person with the local and international community is an experience that can’t be beaten. We were also proud to share that atmosphere with our online viewers too.
