Binance: Building Crypto Bridges in London

Binance is going to London, one of the world’s financial centers, to connect with the UK community and introduce the blockchain-powered future via Binance Jersey. CZ and the Binance Jersey team will be there – our first-ever meetup in London.

On August 1, Binance will hold a meetup in London to connect with the blockchain community in the city and to discuss important matters regarding Binance, cryptocurrency, and the new economy. CZ will host a live ask-me-anything session exclusive to meetup attendees, covering topics ranging from the recently launched Binance GBP (BGBP) stablecoin to the easiest way to buy bitcoin in the UK (and the rest of Europe) –– Binance Jersey, where you can buy/sell cryptocurrencies with pounds and euros at the best rates.

Why London

As one of the world’s major financial hubs, London is understandably ahead of the curve when it comes to cryptocurrency. Buying Bitcoin in the UK has become commonplace, but there is still enormous room for growth. 

In fact, a recent nationwide survey found that more than 90% of the people in the country are aware of Bitcoin, with about 9% of them actually owning cryptocurrencies. While that looks like a small number, the sheer amount of awareness in Bitcoin, as well as the fact that a huge majority of Britons personally knows a Bitcoin holder, indicate that the potential for buying Bitcoin in the UK to become mainstream is huge.

Another thing: about 21% of Britons already think that Bitcoin can be as common as fiat currencies. 

What We’ll Do in London

With that in mind, Binance is taking this opportunity to make waves in the technological and financial industries, by engaging with London’s growing blockchain community and the increasing number of Londoners who are interested in crypto.

This August 1, at Level39, One Canada Square, Canary Wharf London, the Binance London Meetup will feature the following:

1. Binance CEO CZ (Changpeng Zhao) will attend in person and directly take questions from meetup participants on anything they would like to learn more about in a live ask-me-anything (AMA). 

2. Binance Europe Head Mariana Gospodinova will speak about the impact of blockchain technology on financial markets and personal finance. She will also discuss available applications within the global Binance ecosystem and a first-look into upcoming developments.
