In a recent ruling by Justice James Mellor of England's High Court of Justice, Craig Wright, who claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, was found to have lied extensively and forged documents to support his claim. The case was spearheaded by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA). The judge's decision puts to rest lingering doubts about Bitcoin's origin and allows the industry to uphold the narrative of Bitcoin's "immaculate conception". Wright has said he will appeal the decision.
