Bankman-Fried Trades Rice in Prison and Loses 11 kg

Sam Bankman-Fried gave his first interview since his sentencing, revealing some details about his time at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn.

Sam is serving his sentence alongside 35 criminals, about half of whom are convicted murderers.

There are only four TVs in the common area, Sam complained, and inmates have access to a tablet. Since there is no internet access, he uses it to play various games.

While behind bars, Bankman-Fried has taken to trading commodities, specifically bags of rice, which are used as currency in MDC. He eats beans, has lost 11 kg, and generally follows a vegetarian diet.

SBF confessed that he is not worried about his safety. However, he sleeps poorly at night. According to sources, other inmates often wake Bankman-Fried to trade rice.

He said he has "learned to pretend everything is okay." He also denies his guilt in the fraud charges and plans to appeal.
