BTC WILL WIN REGARDLESS
Regardless of what happens in the world, BTC will win in many instances, in my humble opinion.
The only thing it will lose against is dumping by holders. Otherwise, it is likely to win. Here are some points for your consideration. Let me know your thoughts.
1) Limited supply (21M). Its scarcity helps it win.
2) If oil price goes up, BTC becomes valuable as cost to mine goes up.
3) If gold goes up, BTC, as "electronic gold", will go up.
4) If inflation goes up, BTC will rise as an inflation hedge.
5) If interest rate goes down, BTC will rise as people would have more $ to buy.
6) If war, BTC will rise as it is easier to cross borders with an electronic wallet than a physical wallet with gold bars.
7) Safety of electronic wallet. Not controlled by banks etc. This is a plus point given we hear of banks freezing people's $.
8) Easy & "fast" transaction. Makes people neutral to transact with this medium.
9) An investment portfolio with a certain % of Bitcoin would beat one without.
10) Becomes valuable over time. Proven over the last 10+ years.

BTC seems to be about to bounce off the bottom of the horizontal channel/wedge. This will take a little pressure off the alt coins.
Hopefully it is the post-halving parabolic run. But we need to see if it goes beyond the upper line. This region is the last cycle's ATH & not surprising needs more time to clear as it is a very strong resistance.

Why US SEC matters to crypto space
The US SEC has been taking action against Centralised Exchanges like Binance/Kucoin and organizations developing blockchains & coins like XRP/Ethereum.
US is one of the major markets for crypto. The dynamism of the tokens would not be possible if not for the US.
However the actions of the SEC is creating a lot of uncertainty. They did not write a new set of laws for this complex space. Nor did they sit down & group existing laws into containers & communicate that to the public. All SEC is doing is using dinosaur laws & the courts to interprete/judge the dinosaur laws on different situations. It's a case by case approach & fluid without proper boundaries.
Such approach causes uncertainties & will impede crypto industry expansion in the US. The creativity & innovativeness in US will be dulled & crypto jobs lost.
Increasingly crypto companies are relocating to Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore & a few to El Salvador. But withdrawing from US totally is not feasible as without US' participants, the companies would find it harder to raise funds for their projects.
Hope the situation there would be rectified by the US people for their own sake & for others' sake.
