Before the weekend kicks off, we’ve added some extra updates on the Cartesi ecosystem 🐧 Focusing on the Cartesi Brazil @CartesiBR community work. In the Niterói City Hall @NiteroiPref, Cartesi is collaborating with Fluminense Federal University @uff_br to revamp the city's transportation system, aiming to soon provide real-time bus tracking, routes, schedules, and passenger data—implementing blockchain for service compliance, while a new app will give citizens tools to plan trips and even report issues anonymously! It's exciting to see this project, which stems from our previous collaboration with SBC Brasil @sbcbrasil during a hackathon, now being developed and receiving government funding. Read more about the Niterói project, which has made headlines in over 10 media outlets: https://t.co/NfV7z1TupY Meanwhile, at the National Blockchain Observatory, we’re working with RedeRNP @Rede_RNP to empower the innovators’ community and make Cartesi the preferred technology for blockchain experimentation. The team will have multiple goals, such as creating APIs for Cartesi to operate as an L2 solution, developing a series of Cartesi dApp demonstrations, and providing tutorials for Cartesi dApp development. A big thank you to Antonio Rocha @AARocha for driving these plans. He also presented his scientific results at the 6th International Conference on Blockchain Computing and Applications (BCCA 2024), where validations and experiments were conducted using Cartesi. Cartesi allows you to do more in web3, and it shows it! Want to hear more updates? Tune in to our ecosystem review call this Monday at 1 PM (UTC), where we will be live streaming more from the Cartesi ecosystem on X or YouTube: https://t.co/EgDZlIxLFZ Wishing Cartesian a happy weekend and a joyful Thanksgiving, enjoy it!

The addition of the Validator Marketplace to the Cartesi Technology Evolution Plan connects developers and validators, creating a coordination layer for dApp growth in the Cartesi ecosystem, powered by the $CTSI token. What this means for everyone involved 🧵 Developers The Validator Marketplace will simplify the journey of building scalable dApps with Cartesi Rollups. Here’s how it will benefit you: • Save the hassle of recruiting and negotiating with node operators. Easily connect with trusted validators in a decentralized competitive environment. • By leveraging the marketplace, you can prioritize innovation in your use cases while ensuring the security of your dApp. This will result in faster deployment and smoother performance for your Cartesi-powered applications. The Validator Marketplace will lower the barrier to entry, making it easier for appchain developers to get started quickly. Validators The Validator Marketplace will open up new opportunities and revenue streams in the Cartesi ecosystem. Here’s how it works for you: • Stake $CTSI to participate, or get delegated stakes from token holders to support your work. You won’t be alone and can count on community support. • You’ll easily earn money as a validator by staking and providing validation services. Additionally, community signaling mechanisms will help you prioritize which dApps to focus on. The Validator Market will create a win-win for securing the appchain and maximizing potential revenue from validation services. Token Holders As a $CTSI token holder, your role in the Validator Market will be key to aligning incentives and supporting the ecosystem! Here’s how you can participate and benefit: • Use your $CTSI for promising dApps. By participating early and “backing” high-potential projects, you’ll receive greater rewards as these dApps gain momentum. • Want to share in validation rewards? You’ll be able to delegate your $CTSI to experienced validators, earning a portion of their validation rewards while contributing to the growth of the ecosystem. The Validator Market will empower every community member, making it easy for them to participate and benefit from Cartesi’s thriving ecosystem. While the Validator Market adds a layer of convenience and aligns ecosystem incentives, it does not introduce any new trust assumptions.Builders and users can still manage their applications independently without relying on the marketplace or anyone else. They retain full control and can run their own nodes to validate everything themselves if they wish. Want to read more about the validator marketplace? Cartesi and the Linux operating system: empowering developers in the blockchain spaceEthereum is one of the first chains to support decentralized applications (dApps), whose backend is built on “smart contracts” and has on-chain event processing mechanisms. In order to solve the blockchain trilemma - scalability, decentralization, and security - various Layer 2 (L2) solutions and rollup technologies have emerged. These L2 solutions process transactions off-chain and use Ethereum as a data availability layer. However, while L2s are designed to scale Ethereum, they do not fully solve the computational scaling problem. Rollup technologies, even when running off-chain, still rely on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) to process transactions, which results in higher gas fees. Some of the challenges faced by most rollup frameworks include:

Cartesi’s mission is simple: to provide Web3 developers with space to think, innovate, and createThe complex journey towards Web3 Since its inception, blockchain has been hailed as a revolutionary technology. We are getting closer to building the next generation of the Internet. But despite the rapid development of the industry, progress can sometimes seem slow, and the promise of Web3 still seems out of reach. Modularity is the next stage of change in our industry. It breaks up and rethinks the blockchain stack to overcome the friction points that come with a monolithic design. It’s a new paradigm that gives developers more power to help them achieve what they’re looking to build. Yet, as an industry, we often get stuck in tunnel vision — focusing on a small piece of the puzzle and losing sight of the big picture we’re trying to create. We worship jargon that disconnects us from the people we’re building this technology for. We waste time reinventing the wheel and lose sight of what’s already been accomplished. Our vital progress can get obscured by the noise, competition, and hype that’s increasingly favored in our industry.

Cartesi’s honeypot challenge surpasses 1 million CTSI and has not been hacked so farExciting news! The Cartesi Honeypot Challenge has now surpassed the 1 million CTSI mark and remains unhacked, demonstrating the strong security and resilience of Cartesi Rollups. The Honeypot dApp, launched in September 2023, is Cartesi’s first dApp on the Ethereum mainnet. It is intended as a testing ground for developers to explore the security of the Cartesi Rollup infrastructure. The challenge is simple: hack the Honeypot and drain the funds within, no strings attached. Despite multiple attempts, the Honeypot remains secure and the funds continue to grow.
