Matter Labs, ZKsync's main development firm, has introduced ZKsync 3.0, a new roadmap aimed at making the ecosystem more connected. This is somewhat similar to rival Polygon's AggLayer, which came out earlier in the year.😏

At the heart of ZKsync “3.0” is the v24 update released on June 7, which “transforms ZKsync from a single ZK chain to an Elastic Chain”🔄

This Elastic Chain consists of multiple chains in the ZKsync ecosystem, but users will feel like they are using a single chain.🔗

Last year, Matter Labs released ZK Stacks, which allows developers to build their own blockchains on ZKsync's technology. In fact, these special chains will be connected to each other via the Elastic Chain.🛠️

The new Elastic Chain will consist of three main components, according to Matter Labs.

The first component consists of "Native Token Vault" and "Shared Router", which are at the center of the network.

The second component is ZK Gateway, this is a middleware that connects the Ethereum blockchain to ZKsync's ZK chains.🌐
