According to Foresight News, Web3 game studio Roboto Games has completed a $15 million Series A financing round, led by a16z, with participation from Ancient8, Animoca Brands, Gumi Cryptos Capital, Harrison Metal Capital, Makers Fund, Merit Circle, Transcend and some angel investors. To date, the company's total financing amount is $19.5 million, including a seed round in 2019. The funds will be used to build the company's second game and recruit artists and marketers.

Roboto Games was founded by Web2 veterans, the team behind which founded ZipZapPlay in 2007, which has produced 20 social Facebook games. Roboto Games has already released the fast-paced combat game Last Mage Standing, and is currently focusing on developing a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game codenamed Foragers and Fighters, with plans to launch an initial playable version of the game in the first quarter of 2023. The company also plans to build a user-generated content (UGC) platform.
