Weekly Highlights

  1. Continuous optimization of CESS Node was conducted this week. New features include image health checks during node deployment and fixes for issues such as failed additional staking and timely clearing of inactive TEE Workers.

  2. Upgrades were made to the CESS lightweight caching nodes, optimizing communication mechanisms between nodes and adding data sharing functionality between cache nodes and nodes with DeOSS.

  3. Issues with DeShare, such as the inability to send user file information to certain types of email addresses, have been resolved. Users are invited to experience the updates and provide valuable feedback!

  4. CESS Ecosystem Growth Manager, Peter, participated in an AMA Session ‘AI x DePIN: the Great Convergence’ hosted by Stability World AI.

  5. CESS participated in the event co-hosted by EthDC and the Blockchain Association in Washington DC.

  6. CESS Co-founder, Joseph Li, participated in an AMA Session delving into the latest advancements and strategic initiatives hosted by SFT Protocol.

Project Development Details

The CESS testnet has been updated to v0.7.6 and consists of a consensus node and a storage node. Consensus Node maintains the world state of the CESS network (by CESS Node) and serves as the “data authentication station” (by TEE Worker). Storage Node provides verifiable storage space and serves as the “data storage pool” in the CESS network.

  1. Consensus Node [v0.7.6]

  • Added health check functionality for container images during node deployment.

  • Fixed an issue where additional staking failed when the staker was different from the transaction sender.

  • Fixed the problem of not being able to clean up inactive TEE Workers promptly.

CESS is a blockchain powered decentralized storage and Content Decentralized Delivery Network (CD²N) infrastructure for Web3. By utilizing a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) model, CESS drives mass deployment of network nodes globally through incentives. The first of its kind, decentralized object storage services (DeOSS) by CESS has significantly contributed to the gradual enrichment and flourishing of the product ecosystem within the CESS network, online file sharing tool (DeShare), and public chain snapshot storage services have been incubated. The developments for this week are as follows:

Decentralized Object Storage Service (DeOSS)

  • Completed the upgrade of lightweight cache nodes to support data sharing between nodes and between nodes and DeOSS.

  • Completed the development of the CESS lightweight client’s user data download function, supporting users in downloading data from cache nodes first.

  • Optimized the service discovery and neighbor node selection mechanism of lightweight cache nodes, improving communication efficiency between nodes.

Online File Sharing Tool (DeShare):

  • Fixed the issue of failing to send file information to user emails for some users.

  • Updated the email address used by DeShare to send emails to users, making it easier for users to differentiate.

Blockchain Explorer (Substats):

  • Completed the development of all functions of the backend service for the new version of the blockchain browser.

CESS Website (cess.cloud)

  • Fixed the issue of the new version of the DAO Cloud Mining Activity page not refreshing data when users log in.

Testnet

Overview:

109 days after the v0.7.6 testnet was launched. More details on CESS blockchain explorer. If you encounter any issues building a node, please seek assistance on CESS Discord.

  • 31 consensus nodes

  • 10,149 storage nodes

  • 20.60 PiB verified storage space

  • 32.90 PiB total storage space

Event:

The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. The ongoing miner reward event in the CESS testnet incentivizes participation from storage and consensus miners, allowing them to earn points while contributing to the network’s growth and development.

Community Activities

  • CESS Ecosystem Growth Manager, Peter, was invited to participate in an AMA Session ‘AI x DePIN: the Great Convergence’ hosted by Stability World AI. Alongside pioneering projects TARS Protocol, OpSec, Unibase. These discussions have provided valuable perspectives that will inform CESS’s future transformative potential at the intersection of the DePin and AI sectors.

  • CESS participated in the event co-hosted by EthDC and the Blockchain Association in Washington DC, where they engaged in meaningful discussions about future innovations and collaborations in the Web3 space. This event provided an excellent opportunity for CESS to connect with industry leaders and explore potential partnerships to drive forward the development and adoption of decentralized technologies.

  • CESS Co-founder, Joseph Li, participated in an AMA Session delving into the latest advancements and strategic initiatives in the DePIN ecosystem with the CTO of SFT Protocol. This session provided valuable insights into the cutting-edge developments and future direction of decentralized physical infrastructure networks. Plus, there was an exciting chance to win 150 for those who joined and contributed to the conversation.
