Craig Wright, who claimed to be Bitcoin's creator Satoshi Nakamoto, has faced a significant setback. The Bitcoin whitepaper has been reinstated on the Bitcoin.org website, signaling the end of Wright's legal battle with the site's anonymous administrators, known as Cøbra.

In 2021, Wright's lawsuit led to the removal of the whitepaper from Bitcoin.org due to copyright infringement claims. Although Wright won by default, as Cøbra chose to remain anonymous and did not appear in court, his claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto were thoroughly discredited. Cøbra was consequently ordered to pay £35,000 ($40,100) in legal costs, and Bitcoin.org had to restrict access to the whitepaper for users in the UK.

In response, various entities, including Square's cryptocurrency division and several governments like those of the USA, Estonia, and Colombia, published the Bitcoin whitepaper in a show of support. The recent announcement of the whitepaper's return was made by Bitcoin.org administrator Hennadii Stepanov, who shared the news and a link to the PDF on the X platform.
