OpenAI has launched a $1 million cybersecurity grant program designed to enhance AI-based cybersecurity capabilities and promote high-level dialogue at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity. The goal of the program is to support collective security, strengthen defense capabilities, and elevate dialogue by working with like-minded individuals around the world. OpenAI will evaluate applications on a rolling review basis, awarding API credits, direct funding, and/or equivalent in increments of $10,000 from the $1 million fund. Funding of offensive cybersecurity projects is not currently being considered.
