Web3 developer community and accelerator ScalingX, in conjunction with popular end-to-end hackathon platform Buildbox, has launched “The Hunt For X”, a zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) hackathon. This is a competitive virtual coding event to explore zero-knowledge proof technology as a blockchain scaling solution. The event will run for three weeks, accepting submissions starting on April 12th and ending on May 5th. It will welcome developers and innovators from all over the world and offer a total prize pool of $40,500.

The Hunt for X hackathon aims to attract top talent in the Web3 space, and participants will work as individuals or teams to provide solutions that will power the development of this new space. The event will feature judges and mentors from leading organizations and projects in the industry, including Coinbase, ConsenSys, and StarkWare, who will evaluate the feasibility, creativity, and potential impact of submitted solutions. The judges and mentors for this event include:

In the process of organizing this hackathon, ScalingX also received sponsorship from 15 well-known organizations, including Spark Union, Numen Capital, CoCloud, Arpa, AELF, Web3.com Ventures, Starknet, M-Ventures, Beosin, ConsenSys, Infura, Reddio, Aspecta, Outlier Ventures and Bewater, to provide technical support and communication opportunities for participants.

The "The Hunt For X" hackathon competition will have multiple challenges, each with a different prize amount. The first challenge involves expanding the Web3 ecosystem using ZKP technology, with a prize pool of $36,000. The second challenge involves Cairo 1.0 development tools, and the winner will win a prize of $3,000. The third challenge is to build an educational course about zero knowledge, with a prize pool of $1,500. In addition to cash prizes, winners will also receive incubation support and have access to funding.

Each participant will have the opportunity to present their project to a panel of judges at a Demo Day on May 10.
