Despite having just become the second company to reach a market value of $3 trillion, Microsoft plans to lay off 1,900 employees in its Activision Blizzard and Xbox divisions this week, according to Decrypt. These layoffs account for about 8% of the total number of employees in Microsoft's gaming division (about 22,000), and most of them will occur in the Activision Blizzard division. Three months ago, Microsoft finally acquired the tech giant for $69 billion after a long regulatory battle. According to reports, an upcoming survival game from Blizzard has been canceled, and Blizzard President Mike Ybarra and Chief Design Officer Allen Adham will also leave. However, it is reported that Blizzard is still developing other games, and the employees originally responsible for this canceled game will be transferred to other departments.
