According to PANews, BlackRock, the world's largest asset management company, is in preliminary negotiations with hedge fund giant Millennium Management to acquire a stake in the company through a strategic partnership.
If this deal is reached, it will be the first time Millennium founder Izzy Englander accepts external investment. Millennium is considered one of the pioneers of multi-manager hedge funds, with assets under management of $69.5 billion.
In recent years, BlackRock has actively expanded its alternative investments, acquiring Global Infrastructure Partners and data provider Preqin, and is in talks with private credit management firm HPS for collaboration.
