According to TechCrunch, Anthropic announced a partnership with Palantir and AWS to provide the Claude AI model to US intelligence and defense agencies. The move aims to enable the use of Claude on the Palantir platform through AWS hosting.
Claude is already available in Palantir’s defense-certified environment, IL6, which is used to store data critical to national security. Anthropic said this will improve intelligence analysis capabilities and decision-making efficiency.
Anthropic is also bringing the Claude model to AWS’s GovCloud, signaling its intent to expand its public sector clientele. The company’s terms allow the product to be used for legitimate tasks such as intelligence analysis, but limit high-risk uses.
Anthropic is raising a new round of funding that could value it at as much as $40 billion, having raised about $7.6 billion to date, with Amazon as its largest investor.
