Pierangeli pointed out that many cryptographic technologies and ideas originated from universities, and even Bitcoin was pieced together from technologies developed by universities. He stressed that it is very important to break down the "island" phenomenon between academia, regulators and builders.
He believes that academia should meet with regulators to discuss and explain industry needs, and the latest academic research can help regulators understand the future direction of development.
