During an official visit to Argentina, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele met with Argentine Vice President Victoria Villarruel to discuss cryptocurrencies and El Salvador’s experience with Bitcoin, PANews reported.

While the discussion was private, a video from before the meeting showed Villarruel asking about El Salvador’s experience with Bitcoin, which has been used as legal tender for several years.

Additionally, Villarruel has shown interest in so-called Volcano bonds, which have been on the back burner for several years. Bukele proposed these bonds as part of a plan to finance Bitcoin City, a Bitcoin-centric metropolis that was announced in 2021 but has yet to be built.
