According to Odaily Planet Daily, the Layer1 blockchain Zilliqa team has recently been preparing to launch the Jasper prototype testnet, which supports Zilliqa 2.0's Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus to achieve a safer and more efficient network.
The Zilliqa 2.0 whitepaper and roadmap have been officially announced, which is an upcoming comprehensive upgrade of the Zilliqa network and will be deployed on the mainnet later this year. Zilliqa 2.0 aims to provide faster finality and better scalability through a new and improved sharding system.
