Despite the ongoing lawsuit between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, its native token XRP remains one of the hottest cryptocurrencies, CryptoPotato reported.

Ripple has seen a significant rise in popularity over the past year after scoring three important (albeit partial) victories in lawsuits against its opponents. According to recent trends, XRP has even surpassed Ethereum (ETH) in Google searches in some countries over the past month. Japan, the Philippines, and South Africa are the top three countries where Ripple tokens have surpassed Ethereum in Google searches. Additionally, XRP searches have risen in Finland, Malaysia, and Indonesia, but to a lesser extent. Ethereum remains more popular in some major European economies, including France, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and others.

A few months ago, Solana briefly surpassed ETH in Google searches. This trend coincided with the rapid rise in SOL prices, which rose by about 1,000% between the beginning of last year and New Year’s Eve.
