According to Wu, the UK National Crime Agency (NCA) announced that it has dismantled LockBit, the world's largest cybercrime organization. The organization is accustomed to using malware to encrypt files on victims' computers and then demand payment to unlock the files. LockBit generally only accepts cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Monero or Zcash for payment. Previously, ICBCFS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in the United States, was attacked by ransomware in November last year.
