Elon Musk is moving forward with the development of the former Twitter company, now called X, into an "everything app" with its own payment system, according to Yahoo News. As of late November, the company received three additional money transmitter licenses in South Dakota (November 27), Kansas (November 28), and Wyoming (November 30), bringing the number of states in the U.S. where the company can conduct money transmitter business to 12. Previously, the company had obtained money transmitter licenses in Arizona, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. All of these licenses were obtained this year, with the earliest being New Hampshire on June 29. X's money transmitter business will be operated by a company called "X Payments LLC," formerly known as "Twitter Payments LLC."
