According to Coincu, a dormant BTC address that had been inactive for nearly six years recently transferred approximately $56.3 million worth of Bitcoin to a new address. The receiving address had no previous transactions before this transfer. In 2017, the dormant BTC address received around $11.8 million worth of BTC, which has now grown to $56.3 million.
Data from BitInfoCharts reveals that the dormant BTC address, starting with 13RLtG, transferred all 2099.99 BTC it held to a new address starting with 1LGnp5. In October 2017, the dormant BTC address received approximately 2,100 BTC, valued at about $11.8 million at the time. Now, after six years, the address has moved its BTC, now worth around $56.3 million, to the new address 1LGnp5.
According to Glassnode data, Long-Term Holders currently control 70% of the total Bitcoin supply, amounting to 14,787,265 BTC. Of these long-term holders, 69.2% are in a profitable position, having held their BTC for an average of more than 155 days. A month ago, CoinCu reported the activation of a long-dormant Bitcoin address, untouched for over 12.8 years, which housed 1,005 BTC. Initially valued at around $1,316 per BTC, this stash has now surged to a staggering $29.75 million, marking a remarkable 22,500-fold increase.
