2024.12.30~2025.1.5
CESS, a decentralized data infrastructure, is a blockchain-based decentralized cloud storage network and CD²N network, supporting online data storage and real-time sharing, providing a full-stack solution for high-frequency dynamic data storage and retrieval in Web3.
CESS Network is a Layer 1 constructed based on the DePIN concept, featuring decentralization, efficiency, security, privacy, and scalability. CESS supports large-scale commercial storage and can support phenomenal decentralized applications (dApps); CESS supports the monetization of data value and the free flow/sharing of data value, while achieving user data privacy protection and data sovereignty returning to data owners in a trustless manner, thereby building a prosperous, diverse, and data asset sovereign data economy new ecosystem.
CESS Project Development
Overview
This week, the upgrade testing of consensus nodes in try-runtime has been completed, and the new version will soon be online in the test network; this week, the script deployment and containerization operation testing of each node in the CD²N network have been completed, and the CD²N network is about to unveil its mysteries; this week, we also achieved the TG mini-program version of DeShare and the TG points-earning mini-games, and a trial version has been pushed out, welcome to experience!
1. Blockchain Network
The CESS Test Network v0.7.7 is composed of consensus nodes and storage nodes. Consensus nodes maintain the global state of the CESS network (by CESS Node), while being the 'data certification station' in the CESS network (by TEE Worker). Storage nodes are responsible for providing verifiable storage space and are the 'data storage pool' in the CESS network. Below are this week's progress:
Consensus Node [v0.7.8]
(1) Complete the upgrade testing of consensus nodes in try-runtime;
(2) Fix the issue where the TEE Node fails to validate the storage node service file filter;
2. Products
CESS is committed to providing high-frequency dynamic data storage services and CD²N services for Web3, meeting the needs of large-scale commercial storage, achieving millisecond-level data retrieval and return. CESS pioneered decentralized object storage service (DeOSS), and the product ecosystem of the CESS network is gradually becoming richer and more prosperous. It has currently incubated innovative applications such as online file sharing tool (DeShare), public chain snapshot storage service, CESS cloud disk, etc. Welcome to experience. Below are this week's progress:
Object Storage Service (DeOSS)
(1) Complete the development of the CD²N main node visualization deployment script;
(2) Fix the issue where the CD²N main node cannot establish a valid connection with the local container of the CESS chain RPC node;
(3) Complete the containerization deployment and operation testing of each node in CD²N;
Online File Sharing Tool (DeShare)
(1) Achieve the TG mini-program version of DeShare, allowing users to easily share files with friends using this mini-program;
Official Website (cess.network)
(1) Complete the development of the TG mini-game and official website points exchange page, allowing users to exchange points earned from mini-games for CESS;
(2) Upgrade the task of completing the Merkle activity quiz, allowing users to review incorrect answers and corresponding standard answers after submitting the quiz;
Cloud Disk Tool (DeCloud)
(1) Complete the development of CESS’s official first cloud disk comprehensive application DeCloud;
3. Feedback and Support
(1) Your feedback is crucial! Please submit issues in CIPs (https://github.com/CESSProject/CIPs) and share your thoughts with us! If you are interested in CESS, you can connect with developers in the CESS Developer Community (https://github.com/CESSProject), we welcome you to share your experience at any time!

CESS Test Network Progress
(1) According to CESS Scan (https://scan.cess.network/) data, as of January 5, the CESS Test Network v0.7.7 Venus version has been released for 158 days, with the total number of successfully registered storage nodes exceeding 8045, and the number of consensus nodes is 22, providing 57.40 PiB of storage space for the entire network, with verified storage space of 44.39 PiB; if test users encounter issues during node construction, they can seek help in the CESS official Discord (https://discord.gg/cess).
(2) The latest CESS incentive test network Venus has officially launched on July 31, 2024! The incentive activities for the test network are ongoing, and participating in storage node testing will earn points that can be exchanged for mainnet CESS Tokens. The total incentive will be determined based on the effective storage capacity of miners at the end of this version of the test network. For detailed incentive rules, please refer to the article (CESS officially launches the test network Venus, innovating decentralized storage + CD²N).
(3) The CESS 2024 Annual Report has been released! Overview of the report: CESS has made significant progress in industry standardization, DeSci, DePIN, and AI fields; the CESS test network has broken several milestones in user numbers, node numbers, and transaction volumes; products CESS DeOSS, CESS Scan, DeShare & DeCloud, CESS light wallet, CESS AI-LINK have achieved remarkable results; the CESS ecosystem continues to build in various fields such as community member growth, developer education, ambassador program, and global expansion. (4) This week, CESS is pleased to announce that Meng Chan Shu has become the Chief Business Officer for the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region! Meng has 18 years of work experience in the Middle East, 10 years in the Malaysian finance industry, 8 years in the cryptocurrency field, and is the founder of Connect Blockchain DMCC. Before joining CESS, he served as the Ecological President of RAKDAO in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. As a builder with rich experience in the finance and Web3 fields in the Middle East, he will help CESS shape the future of decentralized data infrastructure!
