#USConsumerConfidence The Consumer Confidence Survey® reflects prevailing business conditions and likely developments for the months ahead. This monthly report details consumer attitudes, buying intentions, vacation plans, and consumer expectations for inflation, stock prices, and interest rates. Data are available by age, income, 9 regions, and top 8 states. In December 2024, U.S. consumer confidence experienced a notable decline. The Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index decreased by 8.1 points, settling at 104.7, down from 112.8 in November. This decline was driven by a significant drop in the Expectations Index, which fell 12.6 points to 81.1, hovering just above the threshold that often signals a potential recession. The Present Situation Index also saw a slight decrease, indicating consumers' less favorable assessment of current business and labor market conditions. Moving into January 2025, consumer sentiment continued to wane. The University of Michigan's Consumer Sentiment Index fell to 71.1 from December's 74.0, marking the first decline in six months. Despite these declines in consumer confidence, spending remained robust. Reports indicated that U.S. consumers continued to spend significantly into early 2025, following a $1 trillion expenditure during the 2024 holiday season. Retail sales during this period reached $994 billion, a 4% increase from the previous year. Major U.S. banks reported increased earnings for the fourth quarter, driven by notable spikes in credit card expenditures, particularly on products from retailers like Target and Costco. This resilience in spending occurred despite rising credit card delinquency rates and higher interest costs, highlighting consumers' adaptability and focus on essential purchases. In summary, while consumer confidence indicators showed a decline in both December 2024 and January 2025, actual consumer spending remained strong, underscoring the complex dynamics between sentiment and economic behavior during this period.

#MEME Don't Forget Who's Going To Win Long Term Bitcoin is my superpower! hat about you guys gives your valuable opinion..... In the long term, Bitcoin's position as a store of value and decentralized digital gold gives it stability, while meme coins thrive on community-driven hype and speculative momentum. Bitcoin offers a proven use case with institutional adoption and capped supply, ensuring longevity. Meme coins, though volatile, rely on trends and innovation to remain relevant. While Bitcoin is a safer bet for long-term investors, meme coins may deliver short-term explosive gains. When comparing Bitcoin and meme coins for the long term, the differences are stark. Bitcoin, the first cryptocurrency, is regarded as digital gold due to its limited supply of 21 million coins and decentralized nature. Over the years, it has proven to be a reliable store of value and hedge against inflation, with growing institutional adoption. Countries like El Salvador have even adopted Bitcoin as legal tender, further solidifying its long-term value. On the other hand, meme coins such as Dogecoin and Shiba Inu rely heavily on community hype, social media trends, and celebrity endorsements. While these coins have demonstrated the potential for explosive short-term gains, they often lack the fundamental utility or technological innovation that Bitcoin offers. Meme coins are highly volatile and can lose value rapidly when trends fade or communities shift focus. In the long run, Bitcoin's established reputation and real-world use cases make it a safer investment for those seeking stability and growth. Meme coins, while entertaining and speculative, may struggle to maintain relevance unless they develop substantial utility or integrate with real-world applications. For investors, the choice depends on risk tolerance: Bitcoin offers consistency, while meme coins cater to high-risk, high-reward strategies.
