Hackathon Summary
The YQuantum 2024 Hackathon concluded successfully, attracting a large number of participants and numerous project submissions, recognized as a vibrant innovation platform. Among the 300 registrants, on-site participants formed teams to develop 28 BUIDLs, challenging in various fields sponsored by well-known quantum computing organizations such as QuEra Computing, IBM Quantum, Classiq, DoraHacks, SandboxAQ, and Capgemini/The Hartford/Quantinuum.
Participants developed groundbreaking quantum computing solutions driven by rewards, including quantum cloud credits, internship opportunities, networking opportunities, and potential speaking engagements. The grand prize recognized outstanding projects, with the champion receiving a $2,000 award and the opportunity to present in front of Yale University researchers at the Yale Innovation Summit.
The Hackathon successfully fostered a collaborative environment encouraging exploration of cutting-edge technologies and creativity, advancing the field of quantum computing. YQuantum 2024 highlighted the potential of quantum technology and facilitated knowledge exchange among participants and sponsors.

The first YQuantum event held on April 13, 2024, attracted 300 participants from 10 countries, featuring six industry-sponsored challenges and competing for a series of prestigious awards.

1st Place: Quantum Consortium: Case-Duke-Lehigh-Vandy Nexus
The project uses an adiabatic approach to prepare antiferromagnetic energy characteristic states, focusing on quantum many-body scar states and enhancing error correction in computations.
2nd Place: Sparse Quantum State Preparation
The team developed an efficient algorithm for sparse quantum state preparation using Classiq's API, optimizing scalability and efficiency in quantum data management.
3rd Place: QuBruin
The project utilized dynamic quantum circuit optimization algorithms and enhanced error correction. The team improved circuit performance under noise conditions using Qiskit-based models, enhancing user accessibility.
