Odaily Planet Daily News A 24-year-old Dutch law school student has been arrested by police on suspicion of operating a multi-million euro cryptocurrency scam. This individual went missing last year after his trading scheme collapsed, causing approximately 300 investors to lose up to 4.5 million euros (around 4.6 million dollars). It is reported that the student, who called himself a 'crypto banker,' was harassed by investors after the scheme collapsed and subsequently sought police assistance, leading to his placement in a safe location. However, this week, police arrested him based on new evidence submitted by a foundation established by the victims, aimed at tracing the whereabouts of the lost funds. Victims allege that the student continued to attract new investors even as the scheme was nearing collapse, and he has been accused by lawyers of operating a crypto Ponzi scheme, using funds from new investors to pay old ones. He required a minimum investment threshold of 5,000 euros and took 50% of the profits as his fee. The case is currently under further investigation. (Protos)
