ChainCatcher message, Onchain Insights Research Director Leon Waidmann released data showing that the Ethereum Layer 2 ecosystem started strong in 2025.

This week, the number of active addresses reached 10.18 million, a month-on-month increase of 6.84%, close to the historical peak. The transaction volume currently processed by Layer 2 networks has reached 5.19 times that of the Ethereum mainnet.
