When will Bitcoin become worthless? Or even go to zero?
- Satoshi Nakamoto's massive sell-off: Satoshi holds a large amount of Bitcoin. If he suddenly starts selling one day, the market might panic, and the price would definitely plummet. However, many people are already using Bitcoin, and many others are optimistic about it. Even if the price drops, some might seize the opportunity to buy at a lower price, so it's unlikely to drop to zero all at once.
- Capital control of hash power causing destruction: If large capital like BlackRock controls most of Bitcoin's hash power and conducts a 'double spend' attack, which means tampering with the ledger, this would indeed cause everyone's trust in Bitcoin to collapse, and the price would plummet. However, Bitcoin players would certainly not just watch; they would find ways to protect Bitcoin, so it might not necessarily go to zero.
- The emergence of quantum chips: If quantum chips become powerful enough to crack Bitcoin's encryption technology, then Bitcoin's security would be compromised, and people would definitely be hesitant to use it, causing its value to vanish. But currently, quantum technology has not developed to that point, and Bitcoin developers are also finding ways to respond, so there’s no need to worry about it going to zero immediately.
