Elon Musk's Starlink Internet Expands to Include United Airlines
Washington time January 5, 2025, CNN reported in a press release (edited by personal summary):
United Airlines announced plans to launch Starlink service last September and today announced that flight testing will begin next month, with full service starting on some regional aircraft this spring. After that, we plan to expand internet service to major routes by the end of this year. United Airlines 'Mileage Plus' members will have free access to Starlink satellite service and internet use on board. The launch of Starlink by United Airlines, one of the three major airlines in the U.S., indicates that Musk's influence in various sectors of the U.S. economy is growing.
Meanwhile, in addition to United Airlines, some flights from Hawaiian Airlines have already offered Starlink internet, and the charter company JSX is also providing Starlink Wi-Fi on 46 aircraft.
