Phantom Wallet, a popular cryptocurrency wallet on the Solana platform, has recently officially announced its goal of better meeting the demand for searching for tokens and new applications for users. In a post on social media platforms, Phantom also emphasized increasing personalization and social connectivity during usage.

“We are very excited about the enthusiasm of users for the friend tracking feature on Phantom! This is a significant step towards making cryptocurrency more personal and user-friendly,” the project team shared.

In addition to simplifying the process of sharing and searching for tokens with friends, Phantom also asserts that searching for tokens and applications will become easier and more enjoyable than ever.

Denial of token airdrop rumors

In the post, Phantom also clarified some rumors about releasing tokens via airdrop. “We want to clarify that Phantom has no plans to launch a token. However, we are very excited about the social search capability on Phantom and are actively working to deliver experiences that everyone will love.”

Additionally, Phantom Wallet confirmed that there are misunderstandings surrounding the concept of the PHNT token. The team stated clearly: “We have no plans to issue a token.”

Community reaction

This decision has caused mixed reactions within the community. Some users expressed disappointment, but many appreciated Phantom's transparency, viewing this as an important step to protect users from potential scams.

Although the decision not to launch a token may affect the speed of new token development within the Solana ecosystem, this decision has not negatively impacted the price of Solana (SOL). In fact, the price of SOL has increased by 5% within 24 hours, reaching $216.

The security improvement of Phantom Wallet also follows similar steps by Trust Wallet and BNB Chain, aiming to provide a more reliable experience for users in the crypto community. The Phantom app was once ranked higher than Coinbase on the US App Store.
